Managing Partner / Financial Advisor
Edward “Ed” Sokolowski is a Managing Partner and Wealth Advisor at Pioneer Valley Financial Group. As a resident of western Massachusetts, he understands the unique financial needs of the community. He is committed to providing personalized, client-centered services to help his clients achieve financial security and peace of mind.
Ed’s passion for finance is more than just a career choice, it’s a lifelong interest that dates back to his childhood. Ed was fascinated with the stock market tickers while visiting his older sister’s downtown Springfield office, and that fascination grew into a deep-seated passion.
He attended the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, where his economics professor instilled the value of investments in him. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Finance in 1992, taking with him a valuable lesson: when you lose money, it takes twice as much effort to earn it back. It was then, he chose to carve out a career path grounded in the conservative philosophy of long-term investment rather than quick-fix stock trading.
Ed pursued his Securities & Insurance license while still in college. After graduating, he worked for EQ Financial Consultants for seven years. Despite valuing slow and steady investments, Ed thrives in financial environments where risky opportunities could yield great rewards. He relocated his family to New York in 1995 to seek a fast-paced setting with Equitable, where he worked as a district manager.
In 1999, Ed returned to the Pioneer Valley to work for Palmer Goodell Financial Group, LLC. Following the corporate sale of Palmer Goodell to Bank North, Ed realized the importance of a local, relationship-focused, and comprehensive approach to financial planning. In March 2002, Ed and his business partners—Joseph Leonczyk and Charles Myers—opened Pioneer Valley Financial Group, LLC.
Commonwealth Financial Network quickly recognized Ed as a top-level producer and named him Chairman’s Club Advisor in 2020—an elite distinction granted only to high-performing and esteemed financial advisors.
As a Chairman’s Club Advisor, Ed benefited from an intensive learning and networking experience while also being asked to present on PV’S giving back culture. This gave him the opportunity to further hone his financial expertise, share best practices, and provide optimal service, education, and leadership to his clients.
Outside of the office after running casually for more than ten years, Ed completed his first marathon at age 40. Today, he continues to stay fit by embarking on weekly runs, you can also catch Ed shore fishing at local ponds as bass fishing is a hobby!
Ed served as a Chairman in Belchertown, MA where he advocated tirelessly to preserve Foley Field and Lake Wallace, earning him an esteemed Volunteer of the Year Award. In 2018, he advocated for the Lake Wallace Sensory Trail project where children and their families now enjoy sporting events, nature walks, and environmental explorations on the 66-acre recreational area.
In his spare time, Ed enjoys spending time with his two adult sons Ryan and Carter, daughter-in-law Victoria, and his two grandsons Chatham & Porter.
Since PV Financial Group has grown over the last two decades, so has its community involvement. Ed believes that it is his social responsibility to give back to the community in which he lives and works by supporting local children and helping them achieve success.
